Why is youth group so important at First UMC Coral Gables?

Every year on one Sunday in the fall we turn over our worship services to the youth and student ministry at First UMC Coral Gables. Some serve as ushers, some lead in worship, and others give their testimonies on why being in youth group is so important to them.

This time, four youth shared their stories, Matt, Catie, Zebastian, and Andrew, and it's amazing to see how much youth group impacts their lives. The two oldest, Andrew and Zebastian, came into youth group as two rowdy sixth graders, Andrew even got his own set of rules,  and today, they're stories are much different.

From weekly youth group meetings for Bible study and fellowship to visiting with the seniors in the community to mission trips in and out of the country to snorkeling trips and lake retreats to Rock the Universe and beyond, the kids in our youth group make lasting relationships. They learn what it means to live out their faith not just at church, but in their every day lives. So check out the video and hear from these four about why youth group is so important to them.
